This was the ultimate DIY wedding! Not only were the bride and groom extremely creative and completely hands-on... but so was the ENTIRE family! Everything was created by Heather, Geoff and their families to ensure a very personal touch for their wedding. The custom (and painstaking) escort cards to the homemade breadbaskets and... oh... not to mention ALL of the incredible appetizers for the cocktail hour following the ceremony. You could feel the love from the flowers to the cake, this newly married extended family really has outdone themselves and taken DIY to a whole new level!
We had the pleasure of taking all of Heather & Geoff's hard work and showcasing it to their guests and helping create the warmth and beauty that they had been envisioning for months. Along side A Black Tie Affair, was John Brisbane of Bayshore Photography capturing every moment and Shaw's Catering out of Orillia... you guys were amazing! The wedding was absolutely beautiful, but more so was the love beaming from both Heather & Geoff... not only to each other, but to each and every guest in that room. They truly were surrounded by the people that love them and we were very touched to have been a part of their day. Congratulations Heather & Geoff!!!

The beautiful thing about technology is that for the most part, you can take it anywhere! You can basically pack up your computer, camera, stereo, television, telephone, scanner, fax machine... I'm sure I'm missing something... into one little rectangular, paper thin box that slides into your back pocket, and VOILA! INSTANT OFFICE! And that's exactly what I did. There was no real need to be cooped up inside on such a gorgeous day so I packed up the world's cutest assistant (my one-year-old daughter), a beach bag and my cell phone and walked about 90 seconds to paradise. When you live and work in Cottage Country, it's so easy to take for granted the scenery and beauty that for some of us is literally in our backyard. Typically for most year-round residents, we spend the better half of a year taking care of our out-of-town guests that sometimes we forget that it's us who needs some pampering from time to time. I can honestly say by taking a little over an hour out of my day to relax and soak in the view helped me gain a little perspective. People travel from all over the world to visit the 30,000 Islands here on beautiful Georgian Bay. And from time to time some of these visitors leave the glitz and glam of Hollywood for some peace and tranquility... and they're EXCITED to be here! I want to be just as excited if not more when out-of-town clients ask us for suggestions as to where to eat, play & sleep. Instead of a VA-cation or a STAY-cation this year, I'm going to take an EXPLOR-ation and enjoy all the hidden treasures my backyard has to offer! - Amy |
